On Kansas's KAP tests, Grade 11 Science is reported on a scale from 400 to 700 (2026), and each score falls into one of 4 performance levels. Reaching Proficient, at 540 or above, is the state's proficiency line.
The score ranges changed during these years, so each period has its own table below, newest first.
From 2026, Grade 11 Science has a new score scale (400 to 700) and new level names, so a score from before 2026 is not directly comparable to one from 2026 on. Percentiles are, because each year is compared with its own students.

ELA and Math: the grade 10 KAP tests, taken by 10th graders. Science: the grade 11 KAP science test, taken by 11th graders. Each year counts the students who took that test that spring. Students with the most significant cognitive disabilities (about 1 in 100) take a separate alternate test and are not included, and English learners in their first year in a U.S. school take Math and Science but not ELA. The statewide figures cover public schools; accredited private schools that give the KAP are shown as their own districts.
