On Virginia's end-of-course SOL tests, Geometry is reported on a scale from 0 to 600 (2024 to 2026), and each score falls into one of 3 performance levels. Reaching Pass/Proficient, at 400 or above, is the state's passing score.
| Level | Score range | What it means | Statewide 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Did Not Pass | 0–399 | Below the state standard | 18% |
| Pass/Proficient | 400–499 | Meeting the state standard (the passing score) | 67% |
| Pass/Advanced | 500–600 | The highest level, above the state standard | 15% |
Statewide in 2026, about 82% of the students counted for Geometry reached Pass/Proficient or Pass/Advanced. The bar above shows the share at each level (left = lowest).
These counts are the students who took this end-of-course SOL test in that school year. Middle-school students who take a high-school course test early (most often Algebra I, Geometry or Earth Science) are included, counted at their middle school.

A score's meaning depends on where it lands in the ranges above, and on how it compares to other students who took the same test. Our free tool turns a Geometry score into an estimated percentile versus the school, division and the whole state, so you can see where a score stands, not just its level.
