Delaware Biology: what a high-school score means

On Delaware's DeSSA high-school science (Biology) test, Biology is reported on a scale from 300 to 900 (2024 to 2026), and each score falls into one of 4 performance levels. Reaching Level 3, at 600 or above, is the state's proficiency line.

Who takes this test

These numbers are Delaware public and charter school students. SAT Reading and Writing, SAT Math and Social Studies count grade 11 students who took them in the state's spring SAT School Day and DeSSA testing. Biology counts the students in grades 9-12 who took the DeSSA high-school science test, by the school where they tested. Delaware hides groups of fewer than 15 students.

Is a particular score good?

A score's meaning depends on where it lands in the ranges above, and on how it compares to other students who took the same test. Our free tool turns a Biology score into an estimated percentile versus the school, district and the whole state, so you can see where a score stands, not just its level.
